Wet painting is a process in which liquid paint is applied to a product in liquid form using a spray installation. By applying a wet paint system, one or more coats of paint can be applied to protect the material.
After the paint has been applied to the material, it must be cured.
The components that remain after curing form the corrosion-resistant paint coating of your product.
The wet painting process is mainly used on metals and plastics. Wet paints consist of solvent-based or water-based paints.
Over the past 30 years, VDL Laktechniek has continued to develop, making the company a fully-fledged specialist in the field of wet painting. As with our powder-coating process, a pre-treatment using blasting/zinc phosphating/KTL can be applied prior to the wet-painting process.
Thanks to the flexible properties of wet paint, it is possible to apply wet paint to your product in virtually any colour/texture.
As not every material can withstand the higher temperatures required for stoving, it is not possible to apply a surface treatment such as powder coating.
However, wet painting offers the ultimate solution. Wet painting does not require the material to be heated, making it possible to provide the materials with the appropriate surface treatment after all.
Wet painting is possible for virtually every market. At VDL Laktechniek, products from the automotive, petrochemical, agricultural and infrastructure sectors are primarily treated.
